Easy to install and use; tasteful unobtrusive design. Spectacular sound for a two piece soundbar. Programmable for other remotes but does not work with TIVO brand remote so it lost one star.
Premium Sound Quality - Surround

I looked at and listened to several sound bars and chose this one for the smooth sound. I have a 50" Panasonic Plasma that needed a sound upgrade, but I didn't want my 2 toddlers all up in the wires and speakers. Polk has a long reputation for building good speakers and I was not disappointed in that regard. Even in my large 350 sq ft room, there is plenty of clean volume. Music sounds great and dialogue is much easier to understand. Setup was incredibly easy as others have said and I love that it turns itself on and off and responds to my other remotes. So I never have to touch it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the surround effect is minimal in my room. If I sit right in front of it with my ears at the same level as the sound bar, you can actually hear stuff coming from the sides, but in normal use I don't hear much. I'm sure this has much to do with the large room with the walls too far away to bounce the sound off. My primary goal was to get great sound and bass from the front, and I am totally satisfied with that. You could probably get a 5.1 system with a bluray for not much more than this thing sells for and it will sound louder and you'll hear more surround effect, but it won't be as smooth and easy!
Good starter

Overall quality is very good and sound, even though not surround sound is very good. Wireless subwoofer produces good bass and I like being able to move it closer when needed. TV remote setup required a trip to the internet to get better instructions but was rather simple once I understood how to program the sound bar.
Only issue I have is sound bar has a self-protection feature that turns off the sound if it gets too loud. This is a nice feature however it seems to be set a little too low as I have experienced this several times. No big deal just requires turning sound bar off and back on which can be done via the TV remote.

Good idea - poor execution

The DVD player portion broke within two weeks. I thought the sound was good but the wife (who has much better hearing than me) complained that it lacked clarity. It blocks the closed captions on the TV setup - apparently closed captions have to be set from the Polk controller unit. I have returned the unit to Amazon for a refund and ordered a ZVOX which I will combine with one of my DVD players.

I bought this because we wanted better sound
from the 42" Sony lcd in the bedroom.
This is the secondary t.v. when I am watching something else (sports) or for listening to music on DirecTV.
This soundbar sounded the best of all the ones I listened to at a local best buy.
Very easy to set up, as there are only rca jacks hooked up to the HD DTV box.
This did come with a remote, but it's not needed with my set up.
DirecTV remote was easy to program.
The only weird thing using this is that even though the t.v. speakers are off,
the volume progress bar shows up and min/max out way before the
soundbar does.
So, the numbers get thrown off.
Sometimes it's loud at 8, sometimes 80.
Could be just the set up with this particular t.v. or the DirecTV box settings.
Cons- Should have HDMI and it's a little pricey.
Other than that, we love it.
Sounds great if you don't need surround sound and don't want a separate receiver.
