Having been a big fan of Polk Audio speakers for years, I'm always quite demanding about sound quality. These beauties from Klipsch produce top quality sound for mid-range money. You won't be disappointed. While they produce good bass for satelite surround speakers, you'll definitely want a good sub-woofer to complement them.
They're the bees knees

I was brand spankin' new to surround sound when I bought these for $200 in Nov 2009 (Xmas sale. If you see these for sale $300 or below, snag em). I haven't figured out how to get surround sound from cds yet (my fault, haven't made time to do it) but so far this thing rocks for movies. The highest I've cranked them is 1/3 of how high the volume goes and that's plenty. I used these alone for 2 months b4 I added a subwoofer, and the subwoofer really 'completes' the surround sound experience. I have my sub set at 1/4 its maximum volume. I have the Polk PSW10 subwoofer and a Sony STR-DH800 receiver.
Excellent sound!

I bought this set of speaker with Onkyo TX-SR507 receiver together. It is really amazing that such small speakers can deliver very good quality sound. Love it so much!
These are it

Reviewer: Matthew Mcdonald,
I usually know what I want. I do all the research, read the reviews compare the specs 9just like you are doing) and I buy the best in my price range. Speakers oh wow what a pain. Should I buy a set or individually, should i buy a HTIB or seperate componets. I was going crazy. I knew I wanted the Onkyo 607 (love it) but the speakers I was not sure, I was interested in the Energy Takes and the Mirages. I plan on using the speakers for mainly movies and a little music. Something just wasnt sitting right with the Engerys (I wasnt able to listen to them) the mirages were nice but a little more than what i wanted to spend and designed more for music (IMO) I came across Klipsch and instantly i knew these were the ones. I bought them (without listening to them) and I love them the "horn" sound that some people dislike, does not bother me. These speakers sound great with the above receiver in a 13 x 19 room. I am glad I got these, I also ordered a BIC v1020 sub and it blends really nicely with the speakers. You wont go wrong with Klipsch.

The weight of the speakers let you know they're good quality, the only reason I paid what I did for these without heisitency was because I had klpipsch in the past, really high end brand. I strongly recommend.
